How to activate eMSP.OPERATION for be.ENERGISED clients

Using be.ENERGISED enables you to take advantage of the eMSP.OPERATION offer from has·to·be without additional effort. Thus, as an existing customer, you can grant immediate access to charging stations of third party CPOs for your customers or employees, without any further need of licensing software-modules. Only a few simple modifications on the system are needed to instantly provide your customers and employees with roaming access to third party charging stations. The existing processes of billing and remuneration remain in place.
This article details the needed adjustments you have to make in your be.ENERGISED instance to enable the eMSP.OPERATION roaming features.

General preparations

For activating the eMSP.OPERATION functionality within your be.ENERGISED instance, you just need to setup an individual sales tariff which you can offer to your customers. Through this sales tariff, you can benefit from various automation processes which simplify working with roaming networks.

In your tariff management context menu, you will now find a new functionality for adding tariffs to the system. As before, you can add a so-called “EMP sales tariff" for your own customers. This tariff regulates the entitlements and conditions for your own customers at your charging stations, or in the case of roaming, when the roaming functions are being mapped by you (you are not using the eMSP.OPERATION roaming aggregation from has·to·be).

If you want to take advantage of the has·to·be eMSP.OPERATION services, you must add the so-called “EMP sales tariff (managed by eMSP.OPERATION)" to the system. This creates an EMP sales tariff in the system. Please note that the roaming functions from has·to·be are already activated by default!

You now have the option of entering the core information of the tariff in the system. Mandatory in the configuration are only the tariff name and the currency in which you want to charge the loading to the end customer.

Please note that you must create your own eMSP.OPERATION tariff for each billing currency. However, if your customer carries out charging operations abroad, which are offset by the CPO in a foreign currency, they are automatically converted into your billing currency by has·to·be at the daily exchange rate. The billing of costs from has·to·be is done always in the same currency as your normal invoices.

After completing these steps, a new tariff is created in your system. It is named the “standard tariff including eMSP roaming" by default, unless you name it differently. In this tariff you now make all the relevant settings and adjustments that you want to implement for your roaming connection.

The configuration of the requirements is carried out, as with regular EMP rates, via the “Conditions" button in the tariff overview. After you call up the conditions of the tariff, the following window opens in the application:

Before we get into the detail configuration, we would like to explain some more special features of the eMSP.OPERATION tariffs:

Automation

Along with the eMSP.OPERATION tariffs goes a high degree of automation, which greatly simplifies the work with the system on a daily basis. This includes the automated inheritance of tariff conditions at both, buying and selling prices.

Authorisation control

You have the possibility of individually configuring the authorisation of your customers and employees within the tariff itself. If necessary, you can limit access to certain charging networks only. This allows you to specify who is allowed to charge, at what conditions and for how long.
Billing management

The billing of roaming charging processes which your customers or employees carry out at third-party CPO charging stations are always charged automatically to you as the direct customer of has·to·be. You are charged in the currency in which you operate your instance.

The billing of the charging processes to your customers or employees is up to you and is mapped by the standard billing run of your be.ENERGISED instance. This way, you also bear the debt collection risk towards your customer or employee.

Tariff configuration

The tariff configuration offers you various settings and functions, which are responsible for the execution of charging processes and the associated billing. On the main page you will find the following settings, which are explained in more detail below:

Basic fee
eMSP.OPERATION tariffs also have a basic fee that you can bill to your customers automatically. Generally, you are free to choose the basic fee level. If you haven’t agreed upon any other price scale, a monthly basic fee of € 4.50 will be charged for every RFID card activated in the eMSP.OPERATION. With this configuration you can further bill this amount to your customers.

Block access after timeout?

The blocking of access after a timeout enables an automatic deactivation of an RFID card, which is helpful when assigning annual contracts. If this function is inactive, the contracts are automatically extended for a further billing period.

Stop charging operations automatically

You can stop charging operations automatically. The specified time in minutes thus defines the maximum charging time allowed in the tariff. This limit can be set at individual stations. Please note, that during roaming, charging processes performed by drivers will be delivered to has·to·be only after the charging has been processed by the CPO. Because of this, has·to·be cannot provide any functional guarantee here.
Activate Automatic Price Calculation for eMSP.OPERATION?
If you activate this function, then automatically all charging operations with the actual amount will be charged to your customer. If the function is deactivated, then charging operations will be charged to the customer at an amount of 0.00, unless other cost rates have been assigned. Please note that this function represents the lowest fallback level. If you define specific costs in the tariff, for example for certain CPOs, these settings always have priority. The automated surcharges are defined below.
Automatic percentage surcharge on roaming chaging operations
The percentage surcharge defines a percentage value that is added to the net amount of the charging process. For example, you could always bill your customers at a premium of 10%. The percentage surcharge is not shown to the customer.
Automatic surcharge on roaming charging operations
The automatic surcharge defines a fixed amount, which is automatically billed onto the charging process. The one-time surcharge will be shown to the customer in the cost calculation!
Enforce a cost rate at your own charging station?
If a cost rate is defined here, it applies to all charging devices where the issuing company of the RFID card is also the owner of the charging station.
Standard cost rate
The default cost rate will be used within the calculation if a more precise calculation is not found.

Access control

This function is for the access to charging stations and is controlled in the tariff configuration via the tab “external roaming". In this setting, you can set your customers' access to specific CPOs. By default, access is not enabled for all CPOs.

When controlling permissions, you only need to enable each CPO on which your customer or employee is allowed to start a charging operation. These settings are immediately effective and do not require any saving process.
Please note that CPOs charge fee constellations for loading operations very differently. has·to·be tried to standardise these tariffs in order to contribute to better transparency. If you would like more detailed information, please get in touch with your personal contact.

Ready? – Now you can start!

Congratulations, you have successfully completed the general configuration of the eMSP.OPERATION. To now allow your customers to enjoy the roaming functionality, you must now assign the corresponding tariff to the customer’s authorisation medium. This provides immediate access to the charging infrastructure in the eMSP.OPERATION environment.
